ABOUT Evan Gatscher
Evan is a highly skilled and deeply principled guitar technician with a background in high-end, vintage, and structurally complex instrument repair. Formerly a lead repair technician at Seven C Music in St. Petersburg, Florida, Evan developed a reputation for expert craftsmanship, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail—earning the trust of working musicians and collectors alike.
Trained under some of the most respected names in the field, Evan's foundational mentors include Hunter Allen, a top structural luthier with over 30 years at Glazer Instruments in Nashville; David Hosler, founder of Seven C and a former Taylor Guitars designer and Vice President of Customer Service, known for being the designer (working with Rupert Neve) and patent holder of the ES-1 and ES-2 pickup system, and designer of the Taylor T5 Guitar; and Joel Hosler, former head of quality control at Taylor. Working closely with all three, Evan was held to the highest professional standards and eventually took on responsibilities with quality control within the shop
Along side that, Evan has previously served as a warranty repair technician for many guitar brands, including Martin, Collings, Taylor, Fender, Gretsch, and Jackson. While he no longer accepts warranty work, he continues to uphold—and often exceed—the exacting quality and service standards required by these top manufacturers.
What sets Evan apart is not just technical ability, but a belief in doing things the right way. Every repair is approached with a strict code of ethics, ensuring that the methods used are correct, responsible, and worthy of the instrument’s value and history. If a job cannot be performed to those standards due to space or resources, it will not be accepted—a level of honesty and professionalism that you wouldn’t find with a big box store.
With over a decade of experience as a professional touring and recording musician, Evan has a firsthand understanding of what players need from their instruments—whether they’re on the road, in the studio, or preserving a rare piece in a collection.
